creating a secure
redhat linux box ver. 7.3 robstyle
The following guide is intended to assist in creating a more secure
Redhat 7.3 server. It is not the difinitive guide to securing a Redhat
server. But it is in my opinion a good start to locking down a box. If
security is a real priority, do consider further research and taking some
formal training, hardware based firewall, etc. Most of all, do not blame
me if you follow my guide and still get hacked. To use this guide you
must have the Redhat 7.3 installation disks, a pc with at least 2 gigs
of drive space and an internet connection. Excluding the installation
section all parts of this guide are performed while logged in as root.
