boot the pc from redhat 7.3 disk 1
When you see the text based "welcome to redhat" screen press enter. When you see the graphical "welcome" screen click next.

Here are the answers to the interactive installer in order of appearance.

language - english
next

next
mouse - match yours from list

installation type - custom
next
disk partitioning - manually partition with disk druid
/boot - 50 meg
/ - 1 gig
/home - 5 gig
/var - 1 gig
/tmp - 1 gig
/usr - 1 gig
swap - 768
I used the above values on a 10gig drive, but partitioning depends on what you are installing and personal preference as to how large or small you make each partition. Swap is usually 1 to 2 times the amount of physical memory you have installed in you machine. You may want to adjust partition sizes for certain storage needs.
next
boot loader - use defaults
next
boot loader password configuration - You decide. If you assign a password and your server is rebooted it will require a password to be entered before it starts up. That might prove to be inconvenient.
next
network configuration - fill in the values for the tcp/ip settings you wish to use.
next
firewall configuration - To start out I like to set my firewall to high, and allow ssh, just for while I'm building the server. Then I can always reconfigure the firewall by typing lokkit at a root console later.
next
additional language support - default value
next
time zone selection - pick location on map that matches yours.
next
account config - enter and confirm root password, create an account for yourself also

Click next and see if there are any unresolved dependancies. Adjust if needed. Then click next to install. Watch the pretty progress bar and change cds when prompted. you will be prompted to create a boot floppy, I suggest you do, but you can always do that later if you want to skip it. finally press exit and reboot.
